Position: Floor Staff/Front Desk Staff
Location: Climb Yukon Collective, Whitehorse, YT
Employment Type: Part-Time/Full-Time (hours vary based on availability)
Start Date: First week of August, 2025
Wage: $18-$20/hour based on experience

Are you passionate about climbing and community? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, people-focused environment? We’re looking for friendly, responsible, and stoked individuals to join our team as Floor Staff/Front Desk Staff at northern Canada’s first large-scale indoor climbing facility!
With 3000 square feet of wall space for both bouldering and ropes, this role is essential to ensuring a welcoming, safe, and fun environment for all climbers at Climb Yukon Collective.
Where you’ll work:
Climb Yukon Collective is located in Whitehorse, Yukon, on the traditional territories of the Kwanlin Dün First Nation and the Ta'an Kwäch'än Council. You’ll work in a vibrant, growing neighborhood with stunning mountain views and easy access to outdoor adventures. Life in Whitehorse offers world-class climbing, skiing, biking, paddling, and hiking, plus a friendly and diverse community.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Front Desk Operations
- Greet and check in members and guests with professionalism and warmth
- Process payments for day passes, memberships, and merchandise using Rock Gym Pro
- Answer customer inquiries in person, by phone, and by email
- Provide information on gym policies, safety rules, and membership options
- Assist with managing reservations and bookings for classes, groups, and events
Facility Oversight & Safety
- Monitor the climbing area to ensure a safe and positive experience for all participants
- Provide belay and safety instruction for new climbers as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of climbing areas, front desk, and facility common spaces
- Enforce facility rules and safety protocols
Community Engagement & Events
- Be a friendly and approachable representative of Climb Yukon Collective’s values and culture
- Assist with running gym events, competitions, and member engagement activities
Qualifications
Required:
- Enthusiasm for climbing and community-building
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
- Basic computer and cash handling skills
- Industry related training to be provided
- Willingness to learn and enforce climbing gym safety standards
Preferred:
- Previous climbing gym or front desk experience
- First aid and CPR certification
- Experience in belaying, rope climbing and bouldering
- Familiarity with Rock Gym Pro
